The largest destroyer built during WW II, HIJMS Akizuki was at times identified as a cruiser. Akizuki and her sisters fought through out the Pacific during WW II.
The second destroyer, the kit measures 15.25 inches long. The kit features a highly detailed main deck not seen on models in this scale. The smoke stack, bridge and turrets are reproduced in perfect scale. The bridge is even detailed inside. The hull is split at the waterline so that the modeler has a choice of waterline or full hull model. All small parts are cast in fine pewter metal. An extensive photo-etched brass sheet is provided.
