Although small by today's standards, the Balao class of Fleet Submarines carried the fight to the coast of Japan. They with the Gato's were to destroy the Japanese merchant marine in WW II.

The Yankee Modelworks kit measures 10.5 inches long. The subs small size does not mean little detail. The deck and sail are reproduced to the exact plans used by Electric Boat. The sail has all the fittings needed to build any Balao class boat of the period. The hull and sail is a single piece casting. Resin dive planes and a photo-etched brass sheet are included.
