The USS Polk was part of the Lafayette class of Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarines built during the 1960s. In the 1980s, USS Polk was converted to a Special Operations Submarine. This involved removing all of her Missile tubes and converting the space for Seal team operations.
The Blue Water Navy kit of the USS Polk 14.57 inches long and is a perfect first kit. The kit includes 2 Seal Special Operations DDD Shelters. The hull is a single casting with metal dive planes and comes complete with resin, white metal, and photo-etch parts. A great weekend project.
